Feb.28 - That's really a memorable day to all Joy FaMily Members.

I still remembered the last show of JOYFM. I was on the way home on the No.300 bus. When I heard the song "Save the best for last", I cried! For long time, I dared not listen to the song again.

Now let's taste sweetest JOY FM, JOY memories together!

My must-see Grammy acts

THE entire showbiz world will come together on February 10 for the 50th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. But I’m actually more interested in the nominees than winners.

I’m looking forward to being introduced to some new artists. It’s like when the Academy Awards showcases excellent movies that we have never heard of.

I’m not sure if these nominees will win or not, but the artists have certainly caught my attention:

Robert Plant and Alison Krause for Gone Gone Gone

Rocker Robert Plant is from the 70s group Led Zeppelin, which reunited in the UK recently to rave reviews. But this track shows a different side to Plan with him team up with country music’s Alison Krause. Their voices blend very well with each other on the record.

Amy Winehouse

What a mess! The Camden Cancer, as she’s nicknamed by the London press, has had more than her fair share of trouble with drugs and alcohol. But what a talent! I’m a major fan of this woman. If she wins a Grammy, I hope she will take the opportunity to shock us by showing her “normal” side onstage.

Hey There Delilah from the Plain White T’s

This was written a few years ago about a real girl. The girl is now an Olympic steeplechase hopeful and may come to China. Tom of the band knew her in university and although they never really got together, he was inspired to write the song. He did not get the girl, but he may get a Grammy.

Taylor Swift

A talented country/pop teenager. I like Taylor because she puts new life into country music. She co-wrote every track on the album and there’s no doubt she is just beginning a great career. Hope she performs at Grammys because she has so much talent and energy.

Kiss Kiss Chris Brown

PEOPLE are always looking for the “next Michael Jackson!” Some say it could be Usher, but others point to new boy on the block Chris Brown. He’s young, a great dancer, and has ability to take a performance to that “wow” level.

Is he the next Michael Jackson? It’s pointless to even start that useless prediction game. Yet any time an artist has two successive songs in the top 10 on the Billboard charts, it’s safe to say they’re making a large impact in the music world, and Chris Brown is one of those artists.

If you listen to pop radio at all you will know the song Kiss Kiss from Chris’s latest album, Exclusive, And with you, the fellow up single, is currently No 2 on Billbroad.

His melodic vocals sit nicely over the bass heavy R&B beats popular with American producers. With 12 million views for With You on YouTube already, there’s no doubt Chris has arrived:

“I’m into you and
Girl no one else would do
With every kiss and every hug
You make me fall in love
And now I know I can’t be the only one
I bet there’s hearts all over the world tonight
With the love of their life who feel
What I feel when I’m with you.”

Chris is 18 years old and there’s enough going on with this album to keep him on the path towards superstardom. The first single Wall to Wall was a little weak but Kiss Kiss has caught the attention of radio listeners.

Top industry figures like Kanye West and Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am helped produce the album. Yet, as I listen to the album more, I get the feeling that the producers have a little too much control. I hope on his next album they share the responsibility and avoid the over-production that is so common in music today.

I have been listening to Exclusive quite a bit and it sounds fine on my iPod while I exercise in the gym. And the CD I bought in China has a bonus CD of extra tracks like Run It.

This is an album of potential radio hits. If you thought his first album was good but perhaps a bit boyish, he seems to have grown up a bit with Exclusive. But he is still a teenager and has more growing up to do, both musically and otherwise, which is good news for us.
