Beyond Beijing Invitation: You Be the Wine Judge!

Be a wine expert for a day! The Grape Wall Challenge is a contest to find the best wines available in China for less than RMB100.

We are looking for one Beyond Beijing listener to join our panel of five consumer judges, try about 30 wines, and pick a "top ten" on the morning of March 13 in Beijing. The winner will also attend a media lunch the same day.

To join the contest, simply reply to this post and tell us about one of your experiences with wine.

We will pick one listener this Friday (March 6) to be a judge in the Grape Wall Challenge.

haha...I am so expecting it!! Can I join it?
I love red wine!! and I am searching for great red wine among Chinese brands.
My hand so uuuuuup for this!!

My experience is mainly about red wine...le vin rouge.
I lived in France for about one year and a half, and was so blessed to have those opportunities to tast those amazing red wine.
Definitely I am not professional in tasting red wines, but I simply love them, their elegant presentation, and their fascinating smell, color and flavor.
My most recent experience is with Reserve de la Comtesse 2004.
It was a generally good wine, with a good balance of fruit, earth and acidity.
Purple blue, still young.
The smell was not very catching at first, and I was a little disappointed.
But it changed completely after one hour. Very amazing!!
It had a very pleasant smell.
It was rich in taste, and has a nice weight in the mouth, but still a little bit watery.
In a word, a very nice uncomplicated wine (with an affordable price ^^)
I believe it would evolve nicely with years.
