Does anyone know where to find cheese in China? Does any company in China mail it to you? I live in Zaozhuang, Shandong province right now and the nearest city with cheese is Jinan which is 4 hours away. I need to be able to get it easier than that.

That's really a problem.

Cheese is difficult to keep fresh and I don't think it's available by mail.

Otherwise , why not to buy a lot from Jinan every time you go there?

You can buy it in big supermarket such as Lotus, Carrefour and Wal Mart.

Hey, can anyone tell me the address, or give me directions to CARREFOUR Supermarket in Jinan Shandong....was there in the weekend, loooking for elusive cheese, but could only find the Wal-Mart (plastic cheese )

cheese cant be cooked.......... you need milk salt the inside of a veals stomach.... So not really recommended to do it yourself. In China eating cheese is not really normal and the most i found was really plastic cheese. Most of the time cheddar was nice to eat. The Carrefour is maybe a good thing to watch for (or the silver market under the main square in Jinan) Next to cheese they offer also non sweet bread (yuk american sweet bread)

In Beijing, there are Jenny Lou's Stores which sell assorted cheeses and other foreign goods.

Isn't there any Carrefour in Jinnan? It's a big city anyway. Besides supermarket, you can count on some convince store like 7-11.

I have looked at many answers below and most of you don't realise that there are many many cities where you can't get anything Western. Many places have import stores but they are limited. Many who answered speculated that there are big department stores everywhere oozing with western products. Westerers crave a bit of cheese and most places you can't get it anything decent. i suggest you can change your job and move to a bigger city like beijing

and you can try some Chinese food, in fact,many foreign friends love Chinese dishes very much.when in Rome do as the romans do.

have you taste our bj roast duck and pasted noodle?hehe,they are very delicous
