Wen Urges More Efforts to Fight Drought

Faces look very serious in these photos... Wen rarely seems to be photographed in jocular contexts, nowadays... I deeply share the seriousness of those people, farmers and others...

"We are fully capable of overcoming the difficulties we face," he said.

The news of Wen's arrival quickly spread in the village and many villagers joined in the talks at Zhumashi's home.

"The government has offered a lot of help. We will also try our best," Shihake, another villager in his 70s, told Wen. "Since you have come, we are more confident."

The latest cold snap left at least 11 people dead and more than 600 injured in the region by Jan. 23.

Wen's next stop was a shepherd settlement in Tacheng, another seriously affected region.

This sounds honest and spontaneus to me. Well, 26 degree below zero in Xinjiang. It has been about 10 to 35 degrees below zero in Finland during over month. The circumstances and the infrastructure in Xinjiang have been worse than in Finland, however. My best regards to people of Xinjuang and comrade Wen Smile It´s about 10 degrees below zero in Finland, now.
